Bus Cuts Branded a Disgrace

12.33.56pm GMT Sat 6th Jan 2007

Proposed cuts in bus services have been branded a disgrace by local councillors. John Watton, Lib Dem councillor for Flitwick East pointed out that "the services to the Chicksands offices have been cut", whilst councillor Mark Chapman from Shefford stated "These bus services are vital for many people to reach essential services, from Post Offices to doctor's surgeries. The cuts in service will hit the vulnerable the hardest. Rural areas may not be the most profitable bus routes, but they need joined up services for quality of life." With many services severely reduced or cut altogether, many areas now have a limited service or none at all.
