Lib Dems on Mid Beds District Council have declared their intention to put a motion to the full council meeting this month. They will state that weekly collections should be re-instated for the months of June, July and August to tackle the menace of maggots that has plagued residents for the last 2 years. Environment Spokesman Nigel Aldis said "We have listened to the litany of complaints that have cascaded in all summer. We want to see Mid Beds increase recycling further and to implement changes to do this, but we also believe residents must be listened to when they complain of maggots and awful smells from their bins in the summer months. With this motion we believe a balance will be struck between recycling and the problems we have faced."
