Lib Dem Councillors in Flitwick, Steve Mitchell and John Watton, have launched a campaign to prevent the closure of Steppingley Hospital. A new consultation paper from the Primary Care Trust asks for views on the future of the hospital, but doesn't give an option to maintain current services. John Watton said of the proposals "Steppingley hospital is a vital link in the chain of care that is provided for Mid Beds residents. Without this facility people will have much further to travel for care. We already have a deficit of health care in Mid Beds and do not wish to see it further reduced." Concerned residents should contact John on 01525 714027, Steve Mitchell on 01525 714151, or email this website for more details.
