Mark Chapman raised concerns in 2004

Last Friday, fortunately late at night, a speeding car crashed into a play area in Shefford. Local Councillor Mark Chapman has been calling for a barrier here for over 18 months "After the last near miss in October we were told a barrier would be put in place. We have heard again that this will happen urgently as a result of this accident. It must happen now before a child is injured or killed." Bedfordshire County Council have stated that a barrier will now happen.
