Roger Baines Selected for By Election

2.19.00pm GMT Fri 17th Feb 2006

Hard working local campaigner Roger Baines has been selected to fight the Houghton, Haynes, Southill and Old Warden ward by-election for a seat on Mid Beds District Council. Roger said on his nomination "It's fantastic to have the opportunity to represent local people. I hope that I am given the chance to work hard for everyone across this very large area. Dedication will be needed to represent so many communities, and I am committed to do just that." Roger has lived in the ward for over 30 years, and cares passionately about the local area. He thinks the Tory run District Council has let people down. "The District Council is providing fewer services but charging more money. The Capping fiasco shows that the Tories have failed to manage the District properly. I will stand up for what local people want."
