Lib Dem Councillor Fights Cranfield Housing Plan

10.29.01am GMT Sun 20th Nov 2005

Flitwick District Councillor John Watton has been helping Cranfield residents in their opposition to a new housing development at Home Farm. He stepped in after local Tory Councillors ignored local opinion to support the moves to build 350 more homes without any infrastructure improvements. Unfortunately the plans were approved this week by Mid Beds District Council's planning committee. John Watton said of the approval "This is devastating news for for Cranfield residents who already have to suffer traffic congestion on a daily basis. We do not want to see Mid Beds becoming a huge housing estate, and are deeply concerned about the expansion of Milton Keynes." Local Liberal Democrats across the district will continue to push for sensible planning and infrastructure improvements to match.
