Public Meeting for Centre Parcs Debate

1.25.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 7th Sep 2005

Lib Dem councillors Steve Mitchell and John Watton have arranged a public meeting this Wednesday (14th Sept) at 7.30pm at Flitwick Village Hall for debate on the Centre Parcs proposal. Centre Parcs are planning a new holiday village at Warren Wood. So far there have been meetings against the proposal and presentations for it. Steve and John will bring both sides and arguments to the meeting on Wednesday. Steve Mitchell said " We feel it's important that these issues are tackled face to face in an open forum. On the one hand there are worries about traffic, the environment, wildlife and the greenbelt. On the other hand there is the prospect of significant employment opportunities and economic prosperity. We hope this meeting will allow these arguments to be aired properly". It is hoped that as many members of the public as possible will attend.
