Mark Chapman slams Mid Beds MP

11.27.02am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 4th Sep 2005

Mid Beds Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Spokesman Mark Chapman has this week called into question the credentials of new Tory MP Nadine Dorries. Despite being elected on a "keep Mid Beds green" platform, the MP has so far declined to get involved in planning matters when asked to do so by local residents. Mark Chapman said "It is already becoming perfectly clear that Mrs Dorries does not feel the need to support residents when planning issues come up. She has sat on the fence over Centre Parcs, and now she has declined to help residents in Cranfield over another development. She has made an extremely poor start to her tenure. If she believes the proposals are good ones and cannot support residents she should say so."
